Since building fursuits is often a long and laborious task for me, I've made this log to remember all the progress I've made (and to not lose motivation). Additionally, this page is primarily for my friends and mutals, so I may reference things that may not be directly found online. Thank you for understanding.

I haven't been working on him as much these past couple of weeks, but I have made some progress. I lined the inside of the mouth with the same minky I used for the ears, and I added eye outlines (?). I've also been working on minor adjustments for the past month; I resewed a lot of the muzzle and touched up a lot of the shaving. The biggest thing I've been procrastinating is the horns - I actually spent a while sewing a pair a while back, but it looked really messy with the fleece I used so I ended up scrapping them. Maybe this memory is the causation...the neck is also a whole other thing. I don't think I have enough black fur, so I'm gonna have to figure out a creative solution for this.

Overall, I think spending more time away from working on this suit was good for me. I get really frustrated with making fursuits, they don't look like what they look like in my head. And that's probably because I am a very amateur foam carver and sewer. I've actually been thinking about getting an electric knife for carving, I've heard its much easier (the foam doesn't squish when you cut it). Maybe that would help out a little bit.

I'm still happy with this fucked-up asymmetrical guy. Although I've technically already made a fursuit head before, this feels like the first head I've made with intention. I had a reference and I followed it through the entire process, and I didn't cut any corners by hot gluing seams. This is not the case with Deadbeat. At all. God I need to refurbish her.

I took a break for a few days and I think it helped bring some clarity into what I disliked about the current head. I took a lot of time to re-sew parts of the muzzle to make the nostrils more symmetrical and better fit the head. Additionally, I also re-glued the ears to the foam base to be less lop-sided.

Once I finished up these revisions I constructed some news eyes, which are more toony and use a tighter eye mesh. I've gone through like 7 cycles of painting and sanding, and although they're not exactly the quality I'm looking for, they're getting there.

I think these eyes look a lot more clean than the previous iteration.

Some additional work was done on the inside of the mouth (oops forgot to take a photo) and shaving fur . I cut too short in many places and I might have to replace the bald spots at some point in the future. .<.

The ears are still pretty asymmetrical due to the seam placements, which will be something to fix tomorrow.

I have made a lot of progress in the past few days but also I'm going insane. I've sewed almost all of the fur and glued it on, and also spent a day sewing pickable nostrils. Everything looks kinda crooked and the ears are also lopsided. I think I'm going to take a break from working on it for a while because it's making me kinda anxious.

I made these eyes but I don't think they suit him - I think I'm going to remake them more toony and simplistic in the future.

He looks cool!!!!

He still looks pretty cursed but trust the process. At some point I want to add some stuffing under his hair tuft to make it poof out more. Worked on him for 2.5 ish hours.

- sewed + cut new parts of the mouth and ears

I found some professional dog clippers at a thrift store! They cut insanely smoothly. Worked on the suit for 3 - 4 ish hours today. Note that these pictures are not the best since I don't have any pins to pin the fur to the foam for pictures (so its just kinda flopped ontop).

- cut, shaved, and sewed the "hair" on the back of the head. Also finished sewing the cheek fur.

I want to finish this cow head I started around 2-ish months ago. My goal with this suit is to make it with longevity in mind: fully sewed fur, conservative and precise glue usage, and full inner lining. Hopefully I can complete this head before I get too invested with my next project (which I ordered a bunch of new teddy fur for :D). I want to be able to improve my sewing skills before I start on my main fursona’s suit. Another note is that at the time I cut the fur with scissors instead of clippers, so it looks very choppy at the moment.

- cut out cheek fur and starting sewing to current fur (not visable in picture).
